It might be a minority that's buyable with cash, but why should it be there at all? Why defend the practice when it has no benefit for players at all? Especially when the actual pricing is so egregious (The peacock and new outfit together cost more than the bundle I bought with all 3 expansions for crying out loud). I'm just trying to make the point that no MMO dev has ever gone on record saying "Hey, we're selling more MTX now so we're using the extra money to increase the amount of content we're adding"). I think it's easily on the stronger side as far as MMOs go. Sure, there's the argument of extra funding for the development and longevity of the game, but it's kind of a faulty one when the amount of content added per patch isn't increased in correlation to increased revenue from mtx (Disclaimer, I'm not complaining about the amount of content in this game. It doesn't improve the game for players in any way. I just don't understand the defense of it. That doesn't mean I have to agree with it. It might be consistent, and might be a minority of content, but should it be there at all? Is paying for a monthly sub, as well as having to buy the base game and expansions not enough to sustain development of the game?
